ARK Survival Ascended: Cornusaurus Guide

Basic Guide: Cornusaurus

Spawns in: Redwoods

Cornusaurus is a knockout tame with Extraordinary Kibble as its preferred taming food. It’s sexually dimorphic, with males and females having different patterns.

This creature is immune to Bleeding and Radiation. You can command Cornusaurus to sit via the radial wheel, which will heal it for a time and reduce hunger consumption. The main ability of Cornusaurus is Blood Frenzy.

  • Left Click: A high base damage bite. If Cornusaurus bites a bleeding target, it gains the Feeding buff, providing regeneration of 15 HP per second, 5 stam per second, and -50 torpor per second for 5 seconds. Consuming a corpse with this attack grants the Rising Hunger buff, giving regeneration of 15 HP per second, 2 stam per second, and -25 torpor per second over 20 seconds.Whenever Cornusaurus scores a kill, it gains a value of 1.5 towards total Bloodlust buildup. Hit 100 to enter the state, indicated by the bar on the right. For every 0.25 seconds Cornusaurus has Rising Hunger, it gains 0.25 towards Bloodlust. Maintaining Rising Hunger alongside scoring kills is crucial.Once Bloodlust hits 100, all Bloodlust drains, and you gain the Bloodlust buff. This provides +25% stamina, +20% resistance, +75% damage, +15 Stamina per second, and -500 torpor per second. Use the increased damage to accumulate kills and extend Bloodlust. If Bloodlust is lost, Cornusaurus becomes Exhausted. Exhaustion prevents frenzy buildup, drains -10 stamina per second, adds 150 torpor per second, increases damage taken by 25%, reduces damage dealt by 25%, and slows overall speed to 75%. However, if Cornusaurus loses Bloodlust during night-time, it will not become exhausted.
  • Right Click: Activates a powerful charge similar to Pachy but with changeable direction. Faster and more stamina-intensive than a normal run. Charging into targets has a 25% chance to inflict a bleed dealing 10 base damage per second (capping at 1000 damage per tick), scaling with melee and respecting resistance, and slowing the target’s movement speed by 40%. If this attack is done while frenzied, the chance to gore your target increases from 25% to 75%!
  • C Key: A headbutt with good knockback that inflicts a bleed dealing 45 base damage per second (capping at 2500), scaling with melee and respecting resistance.
  • X Key: Tail whip. Cannot be used with insufficient stamina. Deals good knockback for protecting your rear.
  • Left Control: An aesthetic roar.
