Diablo 3 Tome of Set Dungeons

Set Dungeons are like special game zones with specific tasks to finish within a time limit to earn “Basic” and “Mastery” ranks. Each class has 4 Set Dungeons, matching their original 4 Class Sets. They’re a blast to finish but quite a challenge to master. Unfortunately, the newer Class Sets miss out on Set Dungeons.

Once you figure out where to go, put on the full Class Set, and a green Portal will pop up at the destination. Remember, mastering at least one dungeon is crucial for completing the Seasonal Journey and earning that extra Stash Tab! Set Dungeons aren’t affected by game difficulty, but if you die, you’ll need to try again (don’t worry, no Hardcore character loss). Some builds lack toughness, so switch to Normal for the journey, especially in Hardcore mode.

You can team up for these dungeons, with only the leader needing the set. They get the completion, but teammates can join later to help out. It’s a win-win – you get your objectives done, and they get to clean up while you snack!

Rewards

Finishing Set Dungeons won’t get you any unique items or new crafting options, but there’s a sweet bonus in the form of Banner Sigils, Pennants, and Wings up for grabs. Complete any Set Dungeon, and you’ll snag a Banner Sigil specific to that Dungeon—there are 28 in total waiting for you.

Now, if you conquer all four Set Dungeons within a particular class, you’ll score not only a Pennant but an even fancier one if you master all four. And here’s the cool part: nail both the basic and mastery completion of 24 out of the 28 Set Dungeons (except for the Necromancer ones), and you’ll be strutting around in arguably the coolest cosmetic wings in the game—The Wings of the Dedicated and The Wings of Mastery!

Core Setup

For most Set Dungeons, focus on maxing out Cooldown Reduction, Attack Speed, and Resource Cost Reduction. This helps you cast your abilities more swiftly and frequently. You don’t need top-tier gear; non-ancient Legendary Items, level 25 Legendary Gems, and zero Augments work just fine.

Watch out for overdoing it on damage, Area Damage, or passive-killing skills like Mystic Ally or Gargantuan – they might make some dungeons tricky. Remember, in every Set Dungeon, you must eliminate every enemy, so prioritize completing objectives early. Don’t leave foes behind; you don’t want to backtrack through the entire dungeon later.

Patience is key to clearing objectives. Take a relaxed approach, round up enemies for objectives, and you’ll breeze through. Some Legendary items are commonly used and can be reused when you switch classes (details below). In Season 25, steer clear of Soul Shards in Set Dungeons; they’re potent and might complicate required objectives.

Items

  • Captain Crimson’s Trimmings hook you up with Cooldown Reduction, Resource Cost Reduction, Damage, and Toughness – a real all-in-one deal. Craft these bad boys at the Blacksmith, and you’ll find them snugly fitting into almost every Set Dungeon build.
  • Now, let’s talk about the Ring of Royal Grandeur stealing the spotlight. It’s the MVP, featuring in all 28 builds! This ring lets you don one less piece of your mandatory 6-piece Set, freeing up space for Captain Crimson’s Trimmings to shine.
  • Don the Leoric’s Crown for some insane Cooldown Reduction magic, especially when you slot in a Flawless Royal Diamond in the Socket. Whether it’s you or your trusty follower, this crown should always grace your heads during these adventures. If you’re not in the mood for Illusory Boots’ monster-phasing magic, you can cube this crown instead.
  • Now, let’s talk bling. Obsidian Ring of the Zodiac, In-geom, and Messerschmidt’s Reaver are your go-to gems for massive Cooldown Reduction. Wear them, cube them – do whatever it takes to keep that cooldown ticking.
  • When it’s time to dance through enemies, slip into those Illusory Boots. They’re your backstage pass to moving unhindered, making those tricky objectives a walk in the park.
  • Don’t forget to pop in Gogok of Swiftness – the Legendary Gem that brings home the Cooldown Reduction bacon. This gem is your ride-or-die for every build.
  • Lastly, if survival is your jam, slap on Molten Wildebeest’s Gizzard. It dishes out a colossal shield that turns survival into a piece of cake, no matter the build.
