How to Actually disable mouse acceleration in PAYDAY 3

What’s happening?

In the game, there’s a default mouse acceleration feature that affects your aiming, especially when you’re holding a hostage in your left hand. However, this can mess with your regular aiming and make it feel like your skill is off when your muscle memory isn’t working correctly.

So, how can you fix this issue? Here’s a step-by-step guide:

  1. First, navigate to this location on your computer: C:\Users(Your PC Username)\AppData\Local\PAYDAY3\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor.
  2. If you can’t see some of the folders, you might need to enable hidden folders. In Windows 11, you can do this by opening File Explorer, clicking on “View,” and then ticking the “Hidden items” box.
  3. Once you’re in the correct directory, open the “Input.ini” file.
  4. Look for the following line in the file:

[/script/engine.inputsettings] bEnableMouseSmoothing=False

  1. Right below that line, add the following:

bDisableMouseAcceleration=True

Your file should now look like this:

[/script/engine.inputsettings] bEnableMouseSmoothing=False bDisableMouseAcceleration=True

  1. Save the changes you’ve made to the file and close it.

By making this adjustment in the Unreal Engine 4 settings, you’ll disable all mouse acceleration in the game. You should notice an immediate improvement in your aiming. Plus, you’ll be able to look up and down smoothly even when you’re holding a hostage. Hopefully, the need for this tweak will be addressed in a future patch. So, get ready to send those helmets flying like a pro!
