Tier List Overview Criteria

  • T0: This is the highest tier in a tier list, reserved for the most powerful or effective options in the game. Characters or strategies in this tier are considered to be essential picks for competitive play and are often banned in tournaments.
  • T1: This tier is just below T0-tier and includes characters or strategies that are still very strong and effective, but not quite as dominant as those in the T0-tier.
  • T2: This tier includes characters or strategies that are considered to be average or balanced in terms of their strength and effectiveness. They may have some strengths and weaknesses, but they are not as dominant as those in the higher tiers.
  • T3: This is the lowest tier in a tier list, reserved for the weakest or least effective options in the game. Characters or strategies in this tier are often considered to be inferior to other options and may be rarely used in competitive play.

It’s important to note that the exact definitions and criteria for each tier can vary depending on the game and the community creating the tier list. Additionally, a character or strategy’s placement in a tier list is not always an accurate reflection of its overall strength or effectiveness, as factors such as player skill and game balance can also play a significant role.

King of Thieves Traps

Blade

The Blade, also known as Saw, is an immobile trap designed to eliminate any intruder upon contact. It is important to note that its rotating teeth do not contribute to the area where contact is made.

Warder

The Warder, introduced in update 2.26, is a dynamic trap that initially appeared as a playful prank named “the Moose” on the official King of Thieves Facebook page on April 1st, 2018. It possesses the ability to move along a horizontal or vertical path as determined by the player, without any minimum length. Remarkably, it can swiftly change directions without any deceleration at the path’s end, and even traverse through walls.

The Warder unleashes bullets in a singular direction, proving fatal upon contact with any thief. While the Warder itself remains harmless, it is the projectiles it fires that inflict damage. Additionally, the Warder exhibits a faster rate of fire compared to the Cannon and Homing Cannon traps.

Bloodhound

The Bloodhound, also known as “Chainsaw,” is a mobile trap resembling a moving chainsaw. It was added to the game in update 2.28, released on August 6th, 2018. The Bloodhound can be positioned on surfaces or embedded within walls, although it does not function when placed within walls.

When a player comes into contact with the surface where the Bloodhound is located, the trap swiftly moves towards the player with a slight delay, stopping at the end of the surface. However, it is important to note that the Bloodhound cannot traverse across gaps. Despite its saw-like appearance, the Bloodhound possesses a larger hitbox compared to the Blade trap, rendering typical “saw jumps” impossible. Upgrading the Bloodhound comes at a significantly higher cost compared to other traps.

In the initial release of the Bloodhound, a bug caused the hitbox to extend beyond the bottom of the trap. However, this issue was subsequently addressed and resolved in a later update.

Red Guard

The Red Guard represents a mobile hazard designed to eliminate thieves upon contact. It oscillates along a player-defined horizontal or vertical trajectory, spanning a minimum of 3 blocks. As it nears the conclusion of its course, it gradually decelerates before altering its direction. Notably, it possesses the ability to traverse through terrain. It is worth noting that its rear spikes and hands do not contribute to the collision detection.

Snipper

The Spinner, also known as the Blue Guardian, is an agile trap capable of eliminating thieves upon contact. Its movement follows a clockwise trajectory within a circle determined by the player. The Spinner’s speed increases as the radius of the circle expands. Interestingly, regardless of the chosen radius, the Spinner consistently completes a full cycle within the same timeframe. Additionally, it possesses the ability to navigate through terrain. It’s important to note that the back spikes do not contribute to the hitbox.

Electro Cannon

The Electro Cannon stands as an immobile trap capable of emitting a deadly laser beam resembling electricity. Surprisingly, coming into contact with the cannon itself does not pose any harm. The laser beam continues to project until it encounters a wall, at which point its trajectory ceases. It’s important to note that the act of touching the laser beam itself does not have any adverse effects.

Cannon

The Cannon represents an immobile trap that serves as a Projectile Shooter. It launches bullets in a singular direction, instantly eliminating thieves upon contact. It’s crucial to note that the Cannon itself does not pose any danger; only its projectiles are lethal. Interestingly, the Cannon remains operational even if positioned within a wall, as long as it occupies a depth of only one block and faces an open space

Antigravity Switch

The Gravity Switch made its debut in Update 2.4 and possesses a unique nature. While it does not cause any harm and cannot be upgraded, similar to Platforms, it is referred to as a trap within the context of the King of Thieves game. When a player interacts with the Gravity Switch, an intriguing phenomenon occurs—the gravity is reversed. Once activated, the Gravity Switch cannot be triggered again until the current attempt concludes, adding an element of strategic timing to its usage.

Homing Cannon

The Homing Cannon represents a fixed Projectile Shooter Trap designed to launch bullets directly towards the thief. Its projectiles closely resemble and operate similarly to those of the regular Cannon. It’s worth noting that the Homing Cannon itself does not pose any danger, as only its projectiles have the capability to cause harm.

Seeker Bird

The Seeker Bird, also known as the Fly, is a Mobile Trap designed to eliminate the thief upon contact. It relentlessly pursues the thief throughout the dungeon, albeit at a slightly slower pace. However, the Seeker Bird is unable to navigate through terrain, and thus always attempts to move directly towards the player. This behavior sometimes causes it to press against walls or spin around when encountering other traps. Interestingly, when the Seeker Bird collides head-on with another trap, it pauses for half a second, providing a strategic advantage. Unless trapped in a corner, it will persistently continue its pursuit of the player. Importantly, the wings, stinger, and headwear of the Seeker Bird do not contribute to its hitbox.

Ricochet

The Ricochet embodies a Mobile Trap that proves lethal upon making contact with the thief. Its movement follows a diagonal trajectory, and it exhibits a unique bouncing behavior. When encountering terrain, it deflects in a 90-degree angle, allowing it to rebound up to four times before reversing its direction. It’s important to note that the upgrade costs for the Ricochet are notably higher compared to other traps, reflecting its enhanced capabilities. Additionally, there was a previous glitch that caused the Ricochet to fly off in a random degree angle when disabled. However, this issue has been successfully resolved and rectified.

Roaster

The Roaster is a mysterious creature confined within a cage, serving as a unique trap within the dungeon. It possesses a distinctive mechanism whereby an orange circle expands around you whenever you make contact with the walls or floor. However, this circle only grows if you remain stationary, as it gradually recedes when you jump or descend. Should the circle reach its maximum size, it inflicts harm upon you, resulting in being sent back to the door, akin to the effects of other traps.

Scorcher

The Lil’ Scorcher presents itself as a peculiar sight, resembling a dragon peeking its head through a hole. Despite its intimidating appearance, the dragon itself does not pose any direct harm; it is the fiery breath it unleashes that proves lethal. The flames unleashed by the Lil’ Scorcher are capable of inflicting damage upon contact. Notably, the upgrade costs for this trap are noticeably higher compared to other traps, reflecting its enhanced power and abilities.
