MultiVersus, a revolutionary platform fighter, has completely changed the gaming scene. It recently opened its doors to a wide audience with the transition to the free-to-play model. The ambitious goal of the game is to include a wide variety of characters from Warner Bros. They continue to offer an extensive collection of intellectual property and new additions such as Morty, Gizmo, Black Adam and Marvin the Martian.

Traditional Smash Bros. Departing from its approach, MultiVersus offers a different variation whose primary gameplay mode is 2v2 battles. This innovative design requires players to cooperate in pairs and instills a sense of teamwork that sets it apart from other platform fighters. As crowds flocked to experience its unique gameplay, the game’s overwhelming success has sometimes strained the servers.

Since its launch, MultiVersus has been on a spree to continually enrich its roster with amazing character additions. Notable newcomers include Rick and Morty from the hit animated TV series and Gizmo from the Gremlins series. Excitingly, Player First Games has announced some new characters, including Black Adam and Stripe from Gremlins, who are getting ready to enter the game. Check out our Multiversus tier list to learn about the strongest characters.

The innovative “Toast” system adds to the charm of the game. At the end of each match, players have the opportunity to praise both their opponents and teammates for their performance. Such moves, known as toasts, reward recipients with 20 coins that can be used to unlock new characters or gain additional perks. Toasts can be obtained through the purchase of coins, character progression, or certain levels of the battle pass. This unique mechanic further enhances the feeling of camaraderie and appreciation within the MultiVersus community.

Multiversus Tier List

We have compiled a single list for all fighters in MultiVersus, ranking them based on their strengths, weaknesses, attack options, recovery, and overall offensive power. It’s important to note that MultiVersus’s meta is still in its early stages. As players and professionals spend more time with the game and adjustments are made through patches, this list may undergo some changes. Below is the MultiVersus tier list we have prepared for you.

Tier List Overview Criteria

  • T0: This is the highest tier in a tier list, reserved for the most powerful or effective options in the game. Characters or strategies in this tier are considered to be essential picks for competitive play and are often banned in tournaments.
  • T1: This tier is just below T0-tier and includes characters or strategies that are still very strong and effective, but not quite as dominant as those in the T0-tier.
  • T2: This tier includes characters or strategies that are considered to be average or balanced in terms of their strength and effectiveness. They may have some strengths and weaknesses, but they are not as dominant as those in the higher tiers.
  • T3: This is the lowest tier in a tier list, reserved for the weakest or least effective options in the game. Characters or strategies in this tier are often considered to be inferior to other options and may be rarely used in competitive play.

It’s important to note that the exact definitions and criteria for each tier can vary depending on the game and the community creating the tier list. Additionally, a character or strategy’s placement in a tier list is not always an accurate reflection of its overall strength or effectiveness, as factors such as player skill and game balance can also play a significant role.

Multiversus Best Characters

In Multiverse, Tripe emerges as a formidable assassin, boasting remarkable range, agility, and devastating damage output, all without significant drawbacks. His rapid movements, combined with his massive claws, make his side attack a standout move with unparalleled range and priority. Additionally, his neutral attack hurls buzzsaws on the ground or in the air, mirroring the swiftness of his side swipes.

What sets Tripe apart is his sturdiness compared to other assassins, enabling him to endure more damage before being knocked off-screen. His neutral special involves a gun, while his other specials, like riding a skateboard on the ground or wielding a chainsaw in the air, temporarily mark enemies as targets. This grants him the advantage of auto-aiming at marked foes, perfect for securing a victory when launching them strongly but not quite off the screen.

As it stands, Tripe is undeniably the most dominant character in MultiVersus, a force to be reckoned with on the cosmic battlefield.

Player First Games and Warner Bros. wholeheartedly embraced the ultra-instinct Shaggy memes when designing MultiVersus. His neutral ability enables him to charge his rage, unleashing additional damage when he becomes enraged. This robust fighter excels in chaining combos, and his neutral charge attack provides a shielding effect, allowing him to execute the move even under duress.

His up special, an uppercut, becomes a potent finishing move when used while enraged, striking opponents multiple times. While in this state, Shaggy inflicts “weakened” on enemies, propelling them even further upon impact. Moreover, his down special showcases his quirky side, as he pulls a sandwich from the ground to throw at adversaries, dealing damage, and healing teammates when it passes them.

With his sheer might and straightforward moves, Shaggy stands tall as an absolute powerhouse in MultiVersus. His accessibility and potent abilities make him the ideal choice for players seeking victory on the cosmic battlefield.

In MultiVersus, Velma from Scooby-Doo shines as a formidable support character with an incredible arsenal of moves. Simultaneously dealing damage, buffing teammates, and self-healing, she’s a force to be reckoned with. Her neutral attack sends out supportive words that seek her teammate. Hitting her teammate grants them a speed boost, heals Velma, and unleashes an additional word bubble. Hitting an enemy makes them the target, taking damage from the attacks.

Similarly, her neutral special fires a beam from Velma that extends if she hits her teammate. Her combos and special attacks boast immense power, enabling her to rack up damage swiftly. However, it’s Velma’s passive ability that elevates her to top tier status. Throughout the match, Evidence appears on the stage, collectible by Velma and her teammate. Amassing enough Evidence without getting KO’d enables Velma to call the police. The police car targets an enemy, disabling their abilities, and attempts to drive them off the ledge. This potent move can nearly guarantee a KO, adding to an already impressive move set.

Superman reigns as the ultimate Tank in MultiVersus, and there are several compelling reasons behind his dominance. Firstly, his incredible durability allows him to endure an astonishing amount of damage before being launched off-screen. His agility and swift regular combos enable him to swiftly inflict substantial damage upon foes. Moreover, his upward dodge enhances his recovery options, making him even more resilient.

Adding to his impressive repertoire is his ice breath, the neutral special, which not only freezes enemies but also deals damage with an impressive range. However, the true gems in Superman’s arsenal are his aerial side special and aerial up special, perfect for swift knockouts. These moves allow Superman to fly directly towards a designated point, enabling him to grab and throw enemies upon impact. This strategic maneuver becomes a consistent and powerful finisher, albeit some may view it as a bit overwhelming.

In essence, Superman’s skill set cements his status as the preeminent Tank in MultiVersus, a force to be reckoned with on the cosmic battlefield.

Bugs Bunny

Bugs Bunny, the renowned character from Looney Tunes, takes on the role of one of two Mages in MultiVersus. As a Mage, Bugs’ moves require careful setup and cooldown management, but mastering him grants immense power. His passive ability involves crouching to retrieve an item box from the ground, which he can toss to his teammate, provided it’s not on cooldown.

Thanks to his incredible speed, Bugs can swiftly traverse the map, delivering quick regular attacks that deal significant damage. This agility also makes him a challenging target to hit, enhancing his evasive prowess.

Regarding his special attacks, his neutral special summons a safe from the sky, which can be used to strike enemies upon landing. Additionally, his aerial side special launches a rocket, and his down special allows him to dig a tunnel. Both the rocket and the safe deliver substantial damage and potent launch potential. However, given their extended cooldowns, strategic planning is crucial to make the most of these powerful moves.

Batman, the formidable Bruiser in MultiVersus, boasts an impressive array of gadgets, making him a solid choice. His primary attack focus revolves around utilizing gadgets such as the Batarang and grappling hook to extend combos significantly. Additionally, his smoke bomb grants him an invisibility buff, weakening enemies he strikes. However, Batman secures a lower rank on the list due to his lack of potent finishing moves.

While he does possess charge attacks for knocking enemies back, his launching power falls short compared to some other fighters on the roster. Batman excels in engaging enemies up close, dealing substantial damage, but achieving final blows may require relying on teammates or pushing enemies to high damage percentages. With his skillful use of gadgets and fierce combat style, Batman remains a force to be reckoned with in MultiVersus.
