Tier List Overview Criteria

  • T0: This is the highest tier in a tier list, reserved for the most powerful or effective options in the game. Characters or strategies in this tier are considered to be essential picks for competitive play and are often banned in tournaments.
  • T1: This tier is just below T0-tier and includes characters or strategies that are still very strong and effective, but not quite as dominant as those in the T0-tier.
  • T2: This tier includes characters or strategies that are considered to be average or balanced in terms of their strength and effectiveness. They may have some strengths and weaknesses, but they are not as dominant as those in the higher tiers.
  • T3: This is the lowest tier in a tier list, reserved for the weakest or least effective options in the game. Characters or strategies in this tier are often considered to be inferior to other options and may be rarely used in competitive play.

It’s important to note that the exact definitions and criteria for each tier can vary depending on the game and the community creating the tier list. Additionally, a character or strategy’s placement in a tier list is not always an accurate reflection of its overall strength or effectiveness, as factors such as player skill and game balance can also play a significant role.

Best Pikmins

Purple Pikmin

Purple Pikmin are a troglobitic species of Pikmin found in Pikmin 2 , Pikmin 3 and Pikmin 4.They are first found in the Emergence Cave. They have six hairs, used as feelers, protruding from their heads. These hairs are actually found in nature – plants like the Venus Flytrap use them. They are called trichomes, and are sensitive and tough hairs that plants use to detect their surroundings, as well as defend themselves from attempts at consumption.
These Pikmin are very strong due to their weight. They are specifically required to obtain a number of treasures, two of which are needed to gain access to new areas, making them necessary to complete Pikmin 2. While it is possible to clear the debt in the first area without a Purple-Pikmin specific treasure, this takes a substantial amount of time to finish, as eventually the only form of income that remains are enemy corpses.

Purple Pikmin share a number of similarities with White Pikmin. They can only be obtained via certain Violet Candypop Buds and have magenta flowers rather than white. In addition, at the end of each day, they are stored in the ship, as opposed to an Onion. Purple Pikmin are the heaviest, slowest Pikmin species known, but are also the strongest.

In Pikmin 3, Purple Pikmin only appear in Mission Mode and Bingo Battle and are obtained the same way as in the previous game as well as pre-spawned sprouts. Their main purpose in this game is to be heavy lifters. Therefore, all of their abilities aside from having 10x carrying capacity have been removed.

Yellow Pikmin

ellow Pikmin are the second type of Pikmin discovered in Pikmin, the fourth in Pikmin 2, and the third in Pikmin 3, although they also appear at the very beginning during Charlie’s tutorial. These Pikmin have what appear to be very large ears; the means by which they are primarily identifiable. It is not known, however, whether or not this actually aids to their hearing. They also appear to prefer elevated habitats, such as trees. In all three games, the Yellow Pikmin are the second lightest Pikmin type and can be thrown higher than other Pikmin. This is an ability which is needed to retrieve certain elevated objects.
The abilities of Yellow Pikmin vary more in the series than any other member of the species. Yellow Pikmin are the only Pikmin able to wield bomb rocks in Pikmin. In Pikmin 3, Yellow Pikmin can dig the fastest. In Super Smash Bros Brawl, Yellow Pikmin can deal electrical damage to enemies.

Bulbmin Pikmin

Bulbmin are a parasitic species of Pikmin in Pikmin 2 that infect Bulborbs, hence the name. They are only found in caves and there is no way to store them, meaning Bulbmin can only be used in the cave they are found in. They are resistant to all four hazards defined by the game, and are one of the only ways to gain Pikmin in a cave, making them a valuable asset.

Uniquely for a Pikmin type, they start out as enemies when they appear in a cave. An adult Bulbmin, closely resembling a Red Bulborb, is followed by up to a decade of juvenile Bulbmin, which take on a more unique appearance (having completely black eyes rather than the blue or purple eyes of the dwarf and adult Bulborbs, uniquely proportioned and colored legs, and relatively fewer and larger white spots which are positioned differently than those of other bulborbs) with a stem and leaf (or bud or flower) atop their back. They can be found wandering the floors of certain caves and behave much like the Spotty Bulbear, patrolling an established path. The adult Bulbmin is quite aggressive, but can be defeated quickly. When the adult Bulbmin is defeated, the juvenile Bulbmin will panic until whistled, at which point they will join the player’s squad. At this point, they can be used like normal Pikmin. When the player uses a geyser to exit the cave, all Bulbmin in their squad are left behind.
