Tier List Overview Criteria

  • T0: This is the highest tier in a tier list, reserved for the most powerful or effective options in the game. Characters or strategies in this tier are considered to be essential picks for competitive play and are often banned in tournaments.
  • T1: This tier is just below T0-tier and includes characters or strategies that are still very strong and effective, but not quite as dominant as those in the T0-tier.
  • T2: This tier includes characters or strategies that are considered to be average or balanced in terms of their strength and effectiveness. They may have some strengths and weaknesses, but they are not as dominant as those in the higher tiers.
  • T3: This is the lowest tier in a tier list, reserved for the weakest or least effective options in the game. Characters or strategies in this tier are often considered to be inferior to other options and may be rarely used in competitive play.

It’s important to note that the exact definitions and criteria for each tier can vary depending on the game and the community creating the tier list. Additionally, a character or strategy’s placement in a tier list is not always an accurate reflection of its overall strength or effectiveness, as factors such as player skill and game balance can also play a significant role.

Mech Arena Builds

You have reviewed our list. We wanted to provide more detailed information about the characters at the top of our list. In this section, we will take a look at the Advantages, Disadvantages, Plans, and Builds of the most powerful characters selected by our editors. We are presenting to you the character introduction section of our Mech Arena Tier List, which inspired us while creating it.

Killshot Build

Killshot, the epitome of versatility, stands as a medium energy mech that reigns supreme in the game with its unparalleled speed. With its potent dash ability, capable of inflicting greater harm than a railgun shot, an abundant energy supply, and a commendable health reservoir, Killshot emerges as the ideal choice for players of all kinds.

Advantages

Killshot’s Dash ability serves as a force to be reckoned with, not only inflicting substantial area-of-effect damage but also providing a multitude of strategic advantages. It proves invaluable in capturing control points, executing tactical retreats, mounting aggressive pushes, neutralizing Cheetah mines, evading rocket mortars and javelins, and much more. Bolstered by a commendable healthpool and ample energy capacity, Killshot unquestionably demands respect. Armed with some of the most formidable weapons available, crossing paths with an enemy Killshot is akin to a sentence of imminent demise. Furthermore, the Melee Dash ability boasts an impressively brief cooldown, rendering countering during its downtime an impractical option.

Disadvantages

With a few notable exceptions such as the formidable tank-like Juggernaut and Ares, as well as negators like Zephyr, Killshot boasts an array of remarkable strengths and very few weaknesses. Even Brickhouse, often considered a potential counter, falls short as Killshot adeptly exploits the sluggish turning speed of Brickhouse, effortlessly outmaneuvering it. However, it must be acknowledged that Killshot faces a significant challenge when pitted against the formidable might of Surge, finding itself severely outclassed in comparison.

Plan

Killshot, though capable of achieving effectiveness even in the hands of a less experienced player, truly flourishes when wielded by a master. Mastery of this mech demands a keen understanding of when to employ its dash ability in offensive, defensive, or abstaining manners. It is crucial to bear in mind that while the dash holds immense power, recklessly dashing into a group of two or more fully healthy mechs, or dashing while weapons are reloading, spells certain doom. Killshot’s true brilliance emerges when strategically targeting weakened or isolated mechs, allowing its prowess to shine brightest in such scenarios.

When confronted with a fully healthy Killshot, the most viable methods of countering it revolve around employing the aforementioned Juggernaut, Ares, Guardian, or Zephyr mechs. Engaging Killshot from a distance also presents a viable option for dealing with it. However, it is worth noting that the recent Surge buff has bestowed upon it the ability to entirely counter Killshot, rendering it significantly less effective in their encounters.

Build

  • Arc Torrents: Though straightforward in design, they remain remarkably effective. Their ability to unleash massive damage comes at the cost of granting opponents an opportunity to retaliate.
  • Missile Rack: While considered one of the more challenging weapons to wield, when utilized skillfully, it becomes a lethal combination. The dash ability serves as a means of escape during cooldown periods or as a finishing blow against resilient tank mechs capable of enduring those punishing hits.
  • Shotguns: Employing the dash to close the distance, shotguns deliver devastating cone-shaped area-of-effect damage. Highly recommended for novice players and those equipped with the Shotgun 8. In most cases, shotguns prove superior to arc torrents.
  • Javelin Racks: A highly popular build during the early to mid-game stages, exhibiting remarkable effectiveness. The recent addition of Jav12s suggests it may be the most formidable Killshot build currently available.
  • Rocket Mortars: Killshot’s dash empowers it to evade rocket mortars, and the ability to swiftly close in on targets after firing enables the disposal of heavily damaged mechs. The dash also offers a swift means of retreat to gain sufficient distance for retaliatory attacks, though vigilance regarding rear armor is advised.
  • Carbines: Combining the potency of a powerful rapid-fire weapon with the dash allows for advantageous shots at a mech’s vulnerable rear armor.
  • Disc Launchers: These area-of-effect weapons possess immense destructive potential. When coupled with the dash’s formidable area-of-effect capabilities, they pose a significant threat even to the most resilient tanks.

Panther Build

Panther, a formidable heavy attacker type Mech, unlocks as the fourth option in the lineup, preceded by Juggernaut and succeeded by Killshot. From the moment of acquisition until the culmination of endgame challenges, Panther maintains a reputation for its unwavering dependability and straightforward nature. Widely regarded as one of the premier mechs within the game, it serves as an indispensable cornerstone for any well-rounded hangar. Notably, Panther possesses an exceptional ability that deploys an energy fence capable of intercepting all incoming projectiles, and in some instances, even mitigating area-of-effect damage. This ability also significantly hampers the progress of any audacious enemy mech daring to traverse through its formidable barrier.

Advantages

Panther stands as a prime example of unparalleled survivability, potentially claiming the title of the most resilient mech in the game. The inclusion of the stasis barrier grants Panther an almost invincible status when positioned skillfully. Moreover, this formidable barrier possesses additional utility—it can be deployed strategically to impede the progress of enemy mechs without necessitating their passage, or employed to disrupt the opponent’s AI by absorbing their ammunition. Curiously, the fence eludes the AI’s recognition as a solid object, leading them to fire upon it fruitlessly. The barrier, serving as both a personal shield and an aid during powerful advances, cleverly obscures the opponent’s view of what lies beyond its protective embrace. When coupled with a substantial healthpool, commendable speed, and a hefty energy reservoir, Panther emerges as a force that demands utmost respect and poses a daunting challenge to all who face it.

Disadvantages

While Panther undeniably wields significant power, its effectiveness is greatly diminished when its ability is on cooldown or when an opposing mech successfully bypasses the stasis fence. Regrettably, Panther’s vulnerability renders it prone to swift elimination. Consequently, the mech is commonly employed in a more cautious backline role, skillfully leveraging the shield’s invincibility to its utmost advantage. Notably, a lone Killshot can effortlessly dash through the barrier, promptly dispatching the fragile mech on the opposing side, while a Guardian possesses the capability to entirely neutralize the fence, thus nullifying its defensive benefits.

Plan

When piloting Panther, it is crucial to avoid standing exposed without the protection of the shield. Panther, being an exceptionally versatile mech, accommodates various playstyles, ranging from a backline role equipped with Longarms to an unconventional frontline approach armed with arc torrents. However, the key to success lies in harnessing the full potential of Panther’s barrier. One noteworthy tactic involves nullifying all damage inflicted by a Killshot’s dash, albeit challenging to execute. By positioning oneself directly in front of the wall and facing at an exact 90-degree angle from it, the impact of the Killshot’s dash can be negated entirely. Embracing such strategies and maximizing the utilization of the Panther’s barrier is instrumental in achieving triumph on the battlefield.

Though countering Panther proves to be a challenging endeavor, there exist viable methods to do so. Killshot effortlessly breaches the defense established by Panther, nullifying the protective shield. Guardian, on the other hand, possesses the capability to dismantle the shield entirely. Additionally, a strategic employment of rocket mortars and the wide radius of disc launchers enables one to circumvent the barrier. Tanks, with their robust resilience, can directly traverse through the shield, enduring enemy fire with relative ease. While Panther presents a formidable challenge, these tactics provide a means to counter its defenses and effectively engage the mech.

Build

Panther harmonizes with a wide array of weaponry, but here are two particularly potent options:

  • EM Rifles: Snipers complement Panther exceptionally well, and within this category, EM Rifles reign supreme. Their combination with Panther’s abilities proves to be highly effective.
  • Disc Launchers: The stasis fence enhances Panther’s ability to inflict significant rear damage, especially when equipped with Disc Launchers. The fence facilitates safe firing as Disc Launchers are not known for their swift unloading, and the launcher’s extensive splash radius is maximized in this setup.
  • Longarms: Ideal for novice players, Panther serves as an excellent sniper mech, making it a highly recommended choice for those starting out.

Guardian Build

Guardian, a formidable attacker mech, becomes available for unlock following Shadow. Boasting the “System Crash” ability, Guardian possesses a highly potent shutdown mechanism that effectively disrupts the weaponry and abilities of targeted enemy mechs. This ability also neutralizes placed objects such as Cheetah mines, thwarts mechs like Surge from executing dashes, and cleanses any adverse status effects from teammates. Thanks to this remarkable shutdown capability, coupled with Guardian’s substantial health pool, encounters overwhelmingly tend to lean in Guardian’s favor. Additionally, Guardian’s remarkable energy capacity further enhances its appeal, making it a beloved choice among numerous players.

Advantages

Guardian’s remarkable ability to neutralize a wide range of threats, combined with its substantial health pool and generous energy capacity, empowers it to obliterate adversaries that venture too close. The versatility of Guardian becomes evident as it embodies a fusion between an attacker and a tank, boasting a health pool rivaling that of Ares. With its formidable ability, Guardian becomes a formidable counter to even the most challenging opponents, including Panther and Shadow, which are typically known for their resilience. Moreover, Guardian’s cone-shaped ability grants the ability to simultaneously disable multiple mechs, further solidifying its status as a formidable force on the battlefield.

Disadvantages

Despite Guardian’s dominance in close-quarter combat against any mech, its vulnerabilities become apparent as the distance exceeds 30 meters. The mech’s low speed and limited range ability significantly diminish its effectiveness, making it considerably weaker in encounters beyond that threshold. Long-range weapons can easily dismantle Guardian, leaving it struggling to close the distance and engage opponents.

Additionally, Guardian’s ability suffers from the lengthiest cooldown among all mechs, allowing opponents an extended window of opportunity to counter its actions. It’s worth noting that although Guardian can disable mechs and weapons, projectiles that have already been fired will continue their trajectory, meaning a well-timed barrage of missile racks can still pose a threat to Guardian. Currently, there exists a glitch where projectiles from missile racks become invisible when the shooter becomes affected by the System Crash ability. However, it is likely that this glitch will be addressed and patched in subsequent updates.

Plan

When piloting Guardian, adopting a strategic approach of drawing opponents towards you proves paramount. Guardian players often favor a midline playstyle, capitalizing on punishing adversaries who venture too close. Utilizing cover to entice mechs to approach, initiating a crash, and subsequently delivering a decisive blow constitutes a highly effective Guardian tactic. However, it is worth noting that frontline and backline strategies are also viable options when operating this mech. The key lies in adapting your playstyle to suit the situation and leveraging Guardian’s abilities to secure victory on the battlefield.

While Guardian undeniably possesses immense close-range power, it is not impervious to counters. Patience, particularly waiting for the ability to be on cooldown, offers the greatest opportunity to engage Guardian effectively, as this presents a significant vulnerability window. However, even during this period, one must remain mindful that outdamaging a Guardian can prove challenging due to its formidable combination of high health and energy, rendering it an effective brawler. Opting for long-range counters emerges as the most viable option when confronted by a Guardian, allowing for safer engagement and the ability to exploit its weaknesses from a distance.

Build

  • Carbines: Delivering immense close-range DPS, carbines synergize exceptionally well with Guardian. The mech’s ability provides ample time to compensate for the increased exposure when using carbines.
  • Missile Racks: A favored loadout during the early game, missile racks seamlessly integrate with Guardian’s playstyle. The prescribed style aligns closely with Guardian’s inherent strengths, making it an effortless fit.
  • Railguns: As Guardian’s weakness lies in long-range encounters, equipping railguns mitigates this vulnerability by utilizing weapons effective at all ranges. This strategic choice helps to diminish Guardian’s susceptibility.
  • Rocket Mortars: A conventional rocket mortar build, with no particular distinctiveness to highlight.
  • Disc Launchers: A formidable option for any mech, disc launchers hold particular appeal for Guardian due to its elevated stature, allowing for easier targeting of vulnerable rear areas.
  • EM Rifles: Acknowledged as the pinnacle weapon in the game, EM rifles stand as a superior alternative to railguns, offering enhanced power and versatility.

Stalker Build

Stalker, a medium energy attacker mech, deviates from the conventional progression path by being introduced through Crate rush. The mech’s ability combines elements from Brickhouse and M.D., granting it a 1.5x damage boost and the ability to heal. However, this heightened performance comes with a trade-off: Stalker incurs 1.25x damage from enemy weapons while in predator drive, heals exclusively upon eliminating opponents, and does not extend its restorative influence to teammates. Consequently, Stalker assumes an aggressively inclined role, utilizing its HP as a resource rather than relying on a finite health pool. Notably, Stalker boasts the same HP as an Ares sans shield, positioning it among the most formidable mechs on the battlefield and garnering favor from numerous players.

Advantages

Stalker boasts an impressive array of attributes, including a substantial health pool, remarkable speed, and a moderate energy capacity. These characteristics, coupled with its formidable ability, establish Stalker as an undeniable force on the battlefield. The mech’s ability confers a significant advantage by effectively amplifying its damage output by 50% and enabling it to regain health upon defeating an enemy. Despite the 1.25x damage vulnerability while in predator drive, Stalker’s 1.5x damage boost creates a 1.25x damage advantage over adversaries in individual mech encounters. Moreover, Stalker’s ability to replenish its health after securing a kill allows it to exit engagements with the same level of vitality, and it can swiftly extricate itself from perilous situations by dispatching weakened opponents. Consequently, Stalker proves exceptionally challenging to contend with and proves exceedingly difficult to outmatch in terms of sheer damage output.

Disadvantages

Although Stalker excels in individual mech encounters, its predator drive can prove to be a hindrance when engaging multiple mechs simultaneously or confronting adversaries outside of its effective range. The symmetrical nature of the damage boost it receives becomes a double-edged sword in these scenarios, as the amplified damage taken outweighs its own damage boost.

Plan

Stalker’s distinctive ability enables the adoption of a truly unique playstyle, where a degree of recklessness can be embraced due to its flexible health pool. Prioritizing the elimination of weakened and isolated mechs becomes paramount when Stalker’s health is low, while engaging in more formidable confrontations is best reserved for moments when its health is at a more optimal level. Nonetheless, it is important to note that even though Stalker can afford to be more daring than other mechs, it does not negate the need for cover and strategic positioning. The preservation of its health remains crucial, and sacrifices should only be made when absolutely necessary.

While Stalker proves formidable in one-on-one mech encounters, its effectiveness diminishes when confronted by multiple opponents simultaneously. Exploiting this vulnerability is your best strategy when facing a Stalker. Brickhouse emerges as the sole mech capable of effectively outdamaging Stalker, as its ability remains one-sided while Stalker’s ability exhibits symmetrical effects. Consequently, Brickhouse can unleash damage amplified by 1.75x, surpassing Stalker’s 1.5x damage potential when both abilities are active. Additionally, employing flanking maneuvers against Stalker can yield highly favorable results.

Build

  • Arc Torrents: This loadout grants you unparalleled damage output, surpassing any opponent you face. Its magazine nature makes it particularly effective at eliminating weakened adversaries.
  • Carbines: Similar to Arc Torrents, this build relies on bullets instead of energy projectiles. It offers comparable damage potential while providing a different shooting experience.
  • Missile Rack: By utilizing the high burst damage of Missile Racks, you can minimize the impact of Stalker’s downside in Predator Drive. The rapid firepower helps mitigate the symmetrical nature of Stalker’s ability.
  • Disc Launchers: This configuration allows you to engage enemies at any range, making Stalker versatile in combat. Disc Launchers synergize exceptionally well with Stalker, as you can eliminate foes without even being in their line of sight. The large radius of the projectiles enables multi-target takedowns, maximizing both damage and healing. This loadout also proves effective against Shadows.
  • Rocket Mortar: Similar to Brickhouse, equipping Stalker with Rocket Mortars creates a deadly combination. This build encounters fewer drawbacks from the symmetrical effect of Predator Drive, enhancing its overall effectiveness.
  • Gauss Rifle: Despite being perceived as underwhelming, the Gauss Rifle finds its strength when wielded by a Stalker. This combination proves highly effective in battle, surprising opponents with its formidable damage potential.
